Marlin L. Markley Jr.

This Attorney Marlin Markley Jr. took over my son's case from his former Attorney Joseph Caraciolo who represented my son from 5/10/23 until 5/17/2024 & then told my son he could no longer represent him because he changed jobs but asked his Attorney friend Marlin Markley Jr to take his case. Attorne...y Caraciolo has assured my son that Attorney Markley Jr is a good attorney who taught him everything he knows. Attorney Markley Jr. took over my son's case 6/7/24. After so many delays, my son went to trial 10/14/24 to 10/15/24. Attorney Markley Jr. was an awful replacement. First of all, Markley is a DUI & DWI attorney, not a criminal defense attorney. Markley did not do anything in my son's best interest. He did not cross examine the "victim" about so many statements she changed her mind about. No specific dates, times of day, he just wanted to get the trial over with. My son asked him if he should testify and he told him no. He never questioned 1 witness who could verify that the "victim" was lying. During a recess, my son told him he needed to us the rest room & he felt like he was going to have a panic attack. Attorney Markley's response and I heard him say I can't babysit you. His closing argument sounded like it came from the DA not the defendant's attorney. Needless to say both of these Attorney's just took the money and did not do anything. My son fired Markley Jr. & he withdrew as counsel on 11/19 and my son was given a Public Defender. Thanks to these two horrible attorney's my son is looking at 25 minimum years in prison. Thankfully, we found him a new lawyer, a woman who could not believe what those 2 attorney's did not do. I pray she is able to correct these wrongdoings and my son get out of prison. Anybody reading this, just know these 2 are not respectable attorney's . They took my family's 401 K money and Joseph Caraciolo has since disappeared with several clients money & didn't show up for their cases. Attorney Markley Jr. did not care about my son and now I see he wants to run to be a MDJ to take over for MDJ Charles Clement at the end of this year. I would never vote for him.
