OUTCOME: Not guilty finding and settlement of subsequent civil suit

JG was stopped by police in his car based on a false arrest warrant. According to the arresting officer, JG resisted and obstructed his arrest. Mr. Fiscella took the matter to trial and J.G. was acqu ... itted at the close of the State's case in chief. Mr. Fiscella then represented JG in a lawsuit against the arresting agency and officers for a false arrest. A settlement was reached in the matter and JG was compensated for the false charges and arrest.

OUTCOME: Charges Dismissed

The police responded to VW's residence based on a call of domestic disturbance. When they arrived on scene, they were told that there may be weapons in the house. The officers began searching VW's be ... droom and located two guns that, according to the State, were not properly registered. At an evidentiary hearing, Mr. Fiscella challenged the legality of the search of VW's home. The court held that the search was unlawful and did not allow prosecutors to use the weapons in a trial against VW. Based on the court's ruling, all charges against VW were dismissed.

OUTCOME: Conviction overturned; case dismissed

JC was charged with possession with intent to distribute more than 400 grams of cocaine. In the trial court, JC lost a motion to suppress evidence, and JC was sentenced to more than 15 years in prison. ... Mr. Fiscella, working with other attorneys, was retained to draft an appeal challenging the trial court's decision on the motion to suppress. The appellate court granted the appeal and reversed JC's conviction. Shortly thereafter, JC was released from prison.
