On August 24, 2014, J.L. was involved in a serious automobile collision where the at-fault driver crossed the center line while traveling in the opposite direction, striking J.L.'s car head on. Injuri ... es included a fracture of the lower right fibula; a compound fracture of the lower right tibia near the ankle resulting in the need for surgery with screws and plate fixation; fractured posterolateral talus (ankle bone) and questionable fracture involving the dorsal cuboid (ankle bone); and skin grafting at the wound site due to post-surgery skin dying. The at fault driver was underinsured. The case was resolved for all available liability and underinsured motorist insurance limits.
