At initial consultation, was told it could cost me upwards of $1,200 ($500 retainer) to hire him to represent me for: 1. Matters of Divorce 2. Child Support 3. Child Custody After paying him over $2400, I exhausted my cash assets but Mr. Peterson expressed he was not concerned with that, a...s the home owned jointly by my wife and I was appraised at $240,000 with less than that stilled owed on it, and my share of marital property assets was considerably more than whatever future billing may entail. None the less, I was billed over another $2500. He did demand a up-front payment of $500 for the Divorce Master, stating (in writing) he would refund that $500 and provide all my case files if he removed himself from my representation (a friend provided a $500 check with memo "for <my name> Divorce Master". When I was unable to pay more until after property settlement, he removed himself from representing me and filed a complaint against me with the York County Credit Bureau. In effect, I never received what his letter of retainment stated I had hired him for, in that: 1. He never obtained or provided me with a Divorce Master. 2. He did not attend my Child Support Hearing where I was ordered to pay $840 per month for 2 daughters, although I had ZERO income and unable to work due to Disability. (PA Law provides support payment up to 45% of income). 3. I never received any child custody rights through courts. SUMMARY: Never received ANY of the 3 items I had hired him for but was billed about $6,000.00 for his "services".

Mr. Peterson was my lawyer for a child custody dispute. We ended up settling out of court, thank the Lord. Mr. Peterson filed some paperwork and charged us 2700 dollars. I think it's a disgrace that these lawyers can pull hours of work out of the air. I am lucky there was no litigation I would be pa...ying this schmuck until I retired.
