I represented Defendant Williams who rear-ended Plaintiff Diamola at a low rate of speed. Plaintiff alleged that Defendant Williams caused over $16,000 in damages (medical bills and lost wages) in a mi ... nor rear-end collision resulting in almost no damage to the vehicles involved. Plaintiff visited his primary care physician twice. Both times PCP reported that there were no injuries as a result of the accident. Subsequently, Plaintiff contacted a lawyer who referred him to a different physician who diagnosed injuries. Plaintiff then amassed over $8,000 in medical bills and over $8,000 in lost wages. $1,800 was offered prior to trial and rejected by Plaintiff. Jury awarded $583.00 to Plaintiff for first two visits to primary care physician.

Defendant St. Pierre rear-ended Plaintiff Vargas. Plaintiff claimed that she felt like she struck by an 18-wheeler or dump truck and pushed several hundred feet. Defendant asserted that impact was at l ... ess than 5 miles per hour. Minimal damage to vehicles (scratches on bumper). Plaintiff claimed many injuries including an injury to a left foot despite not being able to explain how her foot was injured in a collision of this type. The Plaintiff treated excessively for what was a minor accident, amassing $11,225.88 in medical bills and$1,304.24 in lost wages that she attributed to this accident. Defendant offered $11,225.88 to settle the case prior to trial but was rejected by Plaintiff. Jury found that Plaintiff was exaggerating her injuries and awarded $4,425.02 to Plaintiff.

My client, Martinez Hauling, operated a business installing snow plows on dump trucks. Plaintiff Harvey, an employee of the State Highway Administration, was helping install the plows when the incident ... occurred. He claims that the driver of a truck he was working on pulled forward unexpectedly and without being signaled to do so, striking his head and causing him injury. The Plaintiff presented several witnesses. Neither the Plaintiff nor any of his witnesses could identify the driver of the truck. All witnesses testified as to the process of installing snow plows and each of the testimonies offered differed materially. The Plaintiff claimed that he incurred $5,694.58 in medical expenses and $3,057.62 in lost wages as a result of this incident. The Jury found that there was no negligence on the part of the Defendant and awarded nothing to the Plaintiff.

Neither the Plaintiff nor her doctor could explain how she sustained carpal tunnel syndrome from an accident of this type. The Plaintiff claimed that she incurred $28,292.34 in medical bills as a result of this accident. The Defendant offered $24,600.00 to the Plaintiff prior to trial which was rejected by the Plaintiff. The Jury found that the Defendant did not cause any injury to the Plaintiff and awarded her nothing.

My client, Defendant Soriano, claimed that he was not negligent and the Plaintiff ran the light. The Plaintiff claimed that he incurred $4,560.00 in medical bills and $400.40 in lost wages as a result of this accident. The jury found that the Plaintiff did not meet his burden of proving that the Defendant was negligent and awarded him nothing.

Plaintiff, Defendant, and Co-Defendant were traveling on Greenbelt Road approaching Good Luck Road when an emergency vehicle approached from the opposite direction. Plaintiff pulled over safely to the ... side of the road and stopped. Defendant Anthony contends that as he slowed, the Co-Defendant cut the Defendant off, causing Defendant and Co-Defendant’s vehicle to collide, and then continued on his “collision course” with the Plaintiff ultimately colliding with her vehicle and knocking off her bumper. Co-Defendant Molanco-Flores contends that he was slowing for the emergency vehicle when he was rear-ended by Defendant Anthony, causing Co-Defendant’s vehicle to veer to the right and impact the Plaintiff’s vehicle. The Jury found that Defendant Molanco-Flores was the only negligent party and that my client, Defendant Anthony, was not at fault.

Plaintiff Pisano was traveling on I-495 in the right lane of four lanes when she perceived something wrong with her vehicle. Without looking, she swerved to her left across four lanes of traffic to the ... shoulder, forcing Defendant Velasquez to swerve to avoid her and eventually, despite efforts to avoid, strike the rear of her vehicle. Plaintiff Pisano claimed that she safely pulled over to the side of the road when my client, Defendant Velasquez, was traveling at a high rate of speed on the shoulder, negligently striking her. The Plaintiff claimed that she incurred $6,625 in medical bills, $1,106.70 in lost wages, and $6,100 in property damage as a result of the Defendant's negligence. This case was heard by a Judge who found the Plaintiff's testimony implausible and found in favor of Defendant Velasquez. Defendant Velasquez also incurred injuries as a result of this accident. Judge Burrell found that Plaintiff Pisano was negligent in causing injury to Defendant Velasquez and awarded him damages for his injuries.
