I Paid Jim Welsh $15,000 — His Conduct Raised the Red Flags, His Messages Confirmed Them This review is about my personal experience with attorney Jim Welsh, how I believe my representation was handled, and the communications that confirmed concerns I already had. The messages did not create th...e concern. His conduct did. The messages confirmed the pattern. I am showing the emails, texts, timeline, what I communicated about my defense, and what ultimately caused me to terminate the relationship. I paid $15,000 and made it clear that I wanted to actively participate in my defense. I wanted communication. I wanted to understand the strategy. I was not interested in pleading guilty. Over time, I became uncomfortable with how things were being handled. Then I learned that conversations were taking place about my mental health, whether I was using drugs again, and whether I had “lost it.” Being concerned about somebody is not wrong. What bothered me was people having those conversations around me instead of with me, especially while I felt disconnected from my own defense. Then came the messages. I was told I had “dug” myself into a hole. I was told Jim was my “last hope” of avoiding a guilty verdict. My child was brought into the conversation. My past addiction and mental health were discussed. At the same time, I was told that my innocence had never been doubted. I saw contradictions. I saw a pattern. And the written communications confirmed why I was concerned. I am not demanding that you agree with me. I am putting the documentation in front of you, explaining how I interpret it, and letting the public decide. There is anger in this video. I am not hiding it. But anger is not violence. Anger is not a threat. Refusing to operate from fear is not wrongdoing. Again, this is about my experience, my representation, and the communications involving me. It is not an attack on Jim’s other clients. The conduct raised the red flags. The messages confirmed them. You decide what the pattern means.
