Beware

We are refusing to pay for our services because:  I asked for the attorneys here to proof read an approximate 10 page document for a basic settlement/general release. I also asked to be notified when our retainer ran out. My wife was asked if they should proceed towards the end of the job, my wife... said yes. She was not notified that this would exceed the retainer. The office tried to claim that my wife, and I both lied.  They never completed the job that we hired them for in its entirety.  The updated documents were never "forwarded" to the opposing attorney's office. It has been over two weeks and it was supposedly sent certified. The other attorney never received the documents. Ms. Pissant told us that WE need to contact the postal service, although it was sent from their offices. Also, more peculiar, the drafting of this letter was never charged to our invoice, and they claimed they completed this work. This office also won't return the opposing attorney's call. The opposing attorney notified us of this earlier this week. When Ms. Piscione was questioned, she claimed she had no idea.  After exceeding our retainer, Ms. Piscione stated that we need to contact her every time we want to know if our retainer has run out. How could I possibly be able to stop every hour of the day and contact her asking this when I can never get her on the phone, as is? This is the exact opposite of what she stated during our initial meeting.  Her office points to a contract that we signed stating it allows them to bill us hours.... an unlimited amount, of hours. Does that seem strange to anyone? We also discovered by a family attorney that all the changes Ms. Piscione wanted to make were superficial.  The office staff is belligerent, rude, and unprofessional.  We are disputing the retainer though our CC company, and refusing to pay for any services, because as far as we can tell we have received none. This office is on the opposite end of the law, stay away, they will be out of business soon enough.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
