Michael A. Steger

Mr. Steger is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh  (B.A. 1974) and the University of Tulsa College of Law (J.D. 1977).  Mr. Steger started his practice of law with a small firm doing insurance defense litigation.  In 1979, he became an associate with a small business law firm and handled the family law and general practice issues that arose there.  Mr. Steger became a general partner of in the firm in 1989.  In October of 1992, Mr. Steger opened the Law Offices of Michael A. Steger in the City of Pittsburgh.  Over the past 20 years, his practice has focused on all aspects of Family Law, including divorce, custody, equitable distribution, and support.  Mr. Steger has been trained in Collaborative Law and brought cases to a successful conclusion.  In addition, he practices in the area of estate planning, wills, powers of attorney and estate administration.  He is admitted to practice before all Pennsylvania State Courts and the United States Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. 

            Mr. Steger is a current member and past President (2001-2003) of the Matrimonial American Inns of Court, CCLXXII.  He is a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (IACP), and the Collaborative Association of Western Pennsylvania (CLASP). He is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Allegheny County Bar Association (ACBA). Mr. Steger is a Fellow in the Allegheny County Bar Foundation.  He was a Council Member of the ACBA Family Law Council (2003-2006).  In the past, as a member of the ACBA Family Law  Association Program Committee, he has been a panelist in programs presented to the Bar.  Mr. Steger was a Pennsylvania Disciplinary Board Hearing Officer (1990-1992) and a Disciplinary Board Chairman (1992-1996).
