When conversing about our case, Stoner said that he was very knowledgeable about eminent domain and small business. He promised he could get out attorney fees back. After retaining him, he refuses to speak with us. He then handed our case off to a much newer attorney, and we now get to pay both of th...em? The bill keeps mounding, but stoner refuses to speak with us even though the retainer was paid and we are making good faith monthly payments on his bill. He advised the newer attorney to not work on our case. So - even though we are making payments - do not expect any legal representation. He just wants oodles of money for low to no legal representation. Do not use this attorney! He will sham you. Of note, read through the five star reviews - some are from the same person!

After accepting my retainer fee he did not get started ASAP like he claimed he would. After months of excuses and then I finally thought we where on the right track I was sent a draft that was not what I wanted done. That was it I was done sent a certified letter stated I no longer needed his service...s and to send me an itemized statement and refund for services that was not provided. No response. After a month I then called and he was very rude and unprofessional at that point. Never got my statement or part of the money I feel was due to me.

My opinion of Stoner Esq. is that he Is charming and very informative as to the possible outcomes of your case, shall he be retained on your behalf. However, once retained he takes a very lackadaisical approach to representing you. We paid a fee to him For representations in settlement negotiations.... He asked us what we wanted and we provided a list of things we thought we may be eligible to receive. He then barely replied directly to our request and attempts at communication with him, he often spoke to us through the other attorney in his office. Not only that, but he told us that the opposing party would not budge and all he could do was to get them to offer the only thing that was offered before we even hired him. Upon looking into our case and with out any prior knowledge of Pa. RCP I found a clearly stated rule that attorney stoner never leveraged in our favor. I then presented it to the opposing counsel and we were able to advance in our negotiations. Attorney stoner did however send us an invoice and when I asked for a refund due to what I would consider to be his negligent Approach he became irate and shouted at me and used obscene amounts of profanity and hung up the phone. If I lay-person can perform at a more effective rate than the attorney whom they hired what is the purpose of hiring that attorney, and not only that, if that attorney can’t provide actual transcript of communication with the other party what proof is there that my best interest was fought for and that the funds I did pay went to anything other than an alleged phone calls. I will say he is full of knowledge and I’m sure that if he takes a willful and committed approach to representing his client I am sure he would be an excellent choice.
