Bethany Cieply Salvatore

 

Bethany C. Salvatore focuses her practice on representing employers in all aspects of labor and employment law including agency investigations, state and federal single-plaintiff actions, class and collective actions, and arbitrations, covering issues like harassment, discrimination, retaliation, constructive discharge, restrictive covenants and breach of contract actions.

In addition to employment litigation, Bethany counsels employers on a variety of personnel issues including but not limited to compliance with wage and hour laws, discrimination laws, family and medical leave laws and developing personnel policies and procedures. She also drafts executive agreements, restrictive covenant and confidentiality agreements, severance packages and employee handbooks, policies and procedures.
 
Bethany also conducts management training on a variety of employment issues.

During law school, Bethany served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Arthur J. Schwab, U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, where she researched and drafted legal documents, including memoranda opinions on motions for summary judgment, motions in limine and Social Security Administration Disability Insurance Benefits decisions. She also served as a summer associate in Buchanan’s Pittsburgh office.
 
Bethany served as a legal intern for a law firm in Washington, D.C., where she analyzed medical records, conducted interviews with clients and their families and created exhibits for cases related to the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund of 2001. She also traveled to Johannesburg, South Africa, to help solidify relationships with plaintiffs, conduct interviews and perform extensive legal research related to a South African apartheid class action.

During her undergraduate studies, Bethany served as a congressional intern for United States Senator Rick Santorum. She also volunteered with the America Reads literacy program and the Meadville Community literacy program.
