Bernard R. Rizza

Bernie was born, raised and has practiced his entire legal career in Pittsburgh even though that career has taken him to many other Counties within Pennsylvania as well as other States representing his clients. Bernie has recovered millions of dollars for these clients in pursuing their medical malpractice cases.
Bernie knows that clients need to be utterly comfortable with the lawyer they choose given the importance of their matter including their desire to obtain full, fair and fast justice for the tragedy they or their loved ones suffered at the hands of bad medicine which has become more about profits than professionalism lately. Bernie understands the importance to clients of having a very personal and trusting relationship with their lawyer and he works tirelessly to provide that given the solemn nature of their case.
Bernie has tried over 100 medical malpractice cases to verdict as he is not afraid to take case to trial when the other side is unreasonable and unfair. Many more have settled before trial. He has worked on cases in just about every specialty within medicine from pediatrics to geriatrics and everything in between.
Bernie has been asked to lecture to local and State-wide legal and medical organizations on many topics involving medical malpractice. He has been a long-time member of the Allegheny County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations and is licensed in all Pennsylvania state and federal courts as well the Supreme Court of the United States.
In addition to practicing and lecturing in his specialty of medical malpractice, in 1998 Bernie was inducted as a Fellow into the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County. And, since 2006, Bernie has been a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers which consists of only 1% of all trial lawyers from each State.
Although titles matter a bit, what matters most to clients is that they have an experienced lawyer who is wholeheartedly dedicated to seeking the answers they strive for and justice for what was wrongly done to them or their loved ones who they rightfully feel obligated to fight for. Bernie’s most important accomplishment is giving his clients their justice.
Bernie, his wife, their two children (and grandchild) were all born, raised and live in Pittsburgh and enjoy all things Pittsburgh from sports to the wonderful people who make up his great City.
