Terrible Experience with KM Wakefield

I hired Kathryn Wakefield in April of 2022 to Open a Judgement. She was initially communicative and polite. She asked for a $1000 retainer and I agreed. As soon as she had my money she became uncommunicative. It has been a year since I hired her and she has still NOT filed the paper work to Open the ...Judgment. DO NOT GIVE THIS LAWYER A RETAINER!!

Mark, your comment is slanderous, as it implies that I did not refund your retainer. Your verbal abuse of my staff and complete lack of understanding of the process, while behaving as if you are some kind of authority were just disgusting. Folks, Mr. Know It All here got his retainer back after berating my staff and repeatedly ignoring email correspondence communicating the status of things. This reviewer is extremely rude, entitled and inaccurate.

Did not have a good experience

I hired Attorney Wakefield after seeing the good reviews here, but I did not have a good experience. Felt overpromised and underdelivered. Communication was difficult; she was quick to respond in the initial consult, but after we funded the retainer, it seemed our case was no longer a priority. Expe...ct several days or more between responses to short questions. We were verbally told timeframes that ultimately were not met. Luckily we ended it early, but we lost a bit of money and a few valuable weeks of time in our case. Review her contract carefully and get multiple opinions on your case before making a decision. This review is my personal opinion based on my experience.

Elaine, your experience is reflective of the gross inaccuracy of your expectations of immediate attention despite signing an engagement letter acknowledging that you were not to expect any attention from my firm for the first 10 days after you paid and signed. The urgency of your matter was not sufficient for you to pay rush rates that you also agreed to pay in your signed contract, but urgent enough act as if my compliance with deadlines you signed off on was somehow hurting you beyond you not getting constant immediate attention. Try this with your doctor, your hairdresser, your banker, even at the line in the grocery store. You cannot just waltz in and have a professional drop everything for you when their time is promised to others. I did call your landlord, but by the time he called me back, it was after you fired me or failing to behave like your personal assistant.

Above and Beyond

Not only did Kathryn respond to my inquiry quickly, she even went out of her way to do some quick legal research to answer my question. I will definitely be using her if my issue escalates!

Professional and Knowlegable

I worked with Kathryn on a Real Estate case and was immediately was impressed with her professionalism and preparation. Kathryn has be able to help me and a group of tenants win all of our initial court appearances. We would have not have been able to do it without her. So glad we found her and you w...ill be to!

Real Estate Complaint Resolution

We filed a complaint against a real estate agent and seller for failing to disclose a significant problem with a property that we purchased. I think it was a complicated case and difficult to prove. Kathryn is very knowledgeable and did an excellent job preparing the case, communicating with all ...parties involved and crafting the complaint document. She successfully negotiated a settlement and avoided going to trial. Highly recommended.
