Dana Richardson’s path to law was anything but ordinary. She spent her early career as a paramedic—sprinting into crises, shouting “Clear!” before defibrillating hearts—so high-stakes pressure is familiar territory. After welcoming her son Alexander, she followed a childhood dream of becoming a chef, completing culinary school and an externship at Nashville’s iconic Opryland Hotel. Yet she found herself craving a profession with even greater impact. Reflecting on her identity and ambitions, Dana chose law. Drawn to Family Law, she discovered she could not only master the legal complexities of divorce and custody but also help clients rebuild lives fractured by conflict. Born and raised in Pittsburgh’s Homewood, she enjoyed a happy early childhood but later endured a home marred by abuse, addiction, and instability. Having fought her way to security and peace, Dana dedicates her practice to guiding others toward that very same refuge.

As empty nesters I never thought I would need a family law attorney but life happens and as it turned out in the course of just a few days we went from grown and gone to what do I do? How do I do it? What is this process and what comes next. Called Attorney Richardson and got in with her the same we...

I hired Dana to help handle a custody issue. I was very impressed with her knowledge and expertise about this type of situation, both in consultation and in the courtroom. I was very satisfied with the outcome.

Dana was beyond amazing, fully prepared and I felt as though she was as fully invested in the outcome of my case as I was. She cared for me as a client and a person.
"Dana is a passionate and extremely talented attorney. She works hard for her clients to achieve the best possible outcome. I highly endorse Dana."
"Dana worked for me while in law school, and then worked for one of my clients before returning as an associate in my firm. Dana handled landlord tenant and other real estate matters well, and maintained a personal connection with our clients. I was sorry to lose her to doing oil and gas title searching, but I now refer my clients who need those searches to Dana."
"I witnessed someting a few years ago that other lawyers and real estate clients need to know about. I had a very complicated real estate case two years ago, and Dana Richardson was my opposing counsel. I found Attorney Richardson was an extremely worthy opponent. Early on in the case, Ms. Richardson was prepared for all of our negotiations, and worked hard to settle the case without going to court in order to save her client money. Then, when we just could not come to an agreement, Attorney Richardson quickly changed gears and was completely ready, willing, and able to get her client what she wanted in Court. What impressed me most was that Attorney Richardson handled the unique emotional aspects of the case perfectly. She had to work extra hard to diffuse the emotion and keep the case moving forward to the goal line, and Dana did that so perfectly. Because of this, I would not hesitate to refer real estate cases to Attorney Richardson, and in fact, I do!"
"I met Dana through her partner, Beth. I was immediately able to observe that Dana is a very talented lawyer whose dedication and commitment to her clients is unmatched. Although she is extremely knowledgeable regarding various aspects of the law, she is particularly knowledgeable regarding oil and gas law. Dana is a great attorney and one whom I endorse without any hesitation whatsoever."
"I met Dana through her partner, Beth Tibbott, at a rigorous and high energy DUI defense seminar. I was immediately impressed by her intellect and her charm. She is a dedicated DUI Defender, and I look forward to my next opportunity to refer a client to her."
"Dana and I went to law school together and worked together for several years. We are now partners in the law firm of Tibbott & Richardson. Dana is an extremely talented attorney and an honest and hardworking individual. Integrity and reputation are very important in the legal profession, thus it is necessary to be careful with whom you associate. I had no hesitation joining forces with Dana in our legal practice. She fights hard for each and every one of our clients with honesty and integrity. Dana Richardson is a great attorney."

The Court saw our position as in line with the child’s best interests. Ultimately, the Court agreed and ordered that sole physical and legal custody remain with our client.
Adult daughter’s PFA complaint against our client, her father, was unsubstantiated at the hearing and the PFA order was terminated.
We had the criminal charges reduced to a summary offense, requiring no jail or probation, and the no-contact restraining order removed. We then successfully had our client appointed as co-guardian of her mother’s personal and financial affairs.
Helped client remove herself and her children from marital residence where they were subjected to physical and emotional abuse from husband/father. Obtained favorable divorce settlement.
