Amazing!

Sara was fantastic! I had a horrible Domestic Violence case. She helped me secure FULL custody while going through trial and made sure my ex got no more than supervised visits so my babies would always be safe. She also secured me an order of protection and proved my innocence in all of it (my ex was... making allegations to try and give himself a leg up). She wasn't afraid to call in CPS, Sherriffs, or anh other witnesses needed. She was sincere, answered all my questions and showed up to every court date with ambition ready to move forward.

Horrible at communication

Sara was assigned to me as my public defender in a very dangerous domestic violence case with multiple parts to it. She was assigned to me in November. She never reached out to me once. I called her & left multiple messages, she never returned my calls. Then one day she actually answered the phone bu...t said she couldn’t talk & asked to call me back. Again, I never heard back from her. I was becoming very stressed with our first court date coming up. I had a ton a questions, a ton of evidence to review with her, and I was looking for legal advice & guidance. Then on the day of our first court appearance, she was a no show. Only, I wasn’t made aware until I was escorted into the courtroom by 10 police officers, to keep me safe, when the judge announced it to all of us. I was pissed! Since then, I again have not heard a from her. I have called her multiple times but no call back. It is now January & our next court date is February. I have reached out to her supervisor, the DA’s office, the Supreme Court who is running the case, and the Lawyer Grievance Committee, & the local DV department. I can’t move forward with another lawyer until she signs a release. She is the worst lawyer I have ever worked with.

Carla, I apologize for the issues as you see them. As you noted, this office was assigned November 19, 2024 on your case, at which time you already had an order of protection. We spoke twice between assignment and your first court date though one call was very brief as I was headed into court. The remainder is I believe a horrible misunderstanding. I requested to appear virtually for your initial court appearance. This was granted by the court. Your court date was at 10 am. I informed the court my reason for appearing virtually was that I was scheduled for trial on another case that day but given the allegations and concerns in your case I didn't want to cause delays for you, and I wanted to ensure the order of protection remained in place. My trial took a break so I could be on and ready for your case. I waited for the case to be called for over forty minutes, emailing several times with the court. After waiting for this time, my other case was recalled and I explained via email to the court that I was being ordered back into my trial and could not wait any longer. I deeply apologize that it was not communicated to you, and that you apparently did not receive my email of the same. I did receive and sign the consent to change attorney and I wish you well going forward.

Horrible lawyer

I told her what I wanted in the court case. During court the judge asked her what I wanted and she told the judge she couldn't reach me. I spoke up and said I spoke with her 2 weeks ago about this case. then she fumbled her words and found the conversation but never even spoke for me. I have been try...ing to reach her since the court date with no return calls.

If you want a lawyer that doesn’t stay in contact with you!

She was impossible to reach most the time! She never called me until the day before or the day of court! She straight lie to me and still lost the case! She honestly made him look better then me! She asked a bunch of questions knowing she was making me look bad! I honestly feel as though she was agai...nst me the whole time!
