Edward Eugene Kopko

Unresponsive, neglected critical deadlines, failed to provide documentation of fees charged against retainer. I recieved no information or advice related to my complaint for my $3000 retainer. This lawyer would not return phone calls or respond to written requests for updates on the status of his r...eview of my complaint, or for requests for billing information. He took a $3000 retainer, and I NEVER RECEIVED ANY INFORMATION AT ALL!

This lawyer makes a great show of claiming to be reviled by other attorneys. This is due to his supposed record of winning malpractice cases against his peers, M.D.s, etc. My wife, who is disabled, engaged Kopko for a possible suit against the corporation which had employed and partially denied her... benefits. He took her money, and then instructed her to do HIS legal research into similar cases, ostensibly to save her additional legal fees. Of course, she could not do perform this task, as she was not trained in law. Kopko kept the money, never checked in with us, and the filing deadline for the complaint came and went.

This lawyer must be the reason that lawyers get a bad name. As he took my retainer, he assured me he was going to remedy my legal situation. I now equate this to "stealing" my retainer because he had ME do critical legwork for the case, missed deadlines, did not keep numerous appointments ( I drove... over an hour to get to his office) avoided my phone calls, then after several months he sent a bill and said let's call it even and go our separate ways. He did no work after he took my retainer. Meanwhile, he missed the deadline for me to file. Stay away from this one, unless you want to get screwed.
