OUTCOME: The Appellate Court concluded that the driver's failure to render aid was excluded from the homeowner's insurance policy
I was appointed as the Administrator of an estate by the Westport Probate Court. The facts of the case were literally tragic. A driver struck a motorcyclist. The driver stopped his car but failed to ... render aid and then left the scene of the accident.The case went to the Appellate Court on the issue of whether the homeowners policy or the automobile policy covered the alleged failure of the driver (the insured) to render aid.
OUTCOME: The trial judge awarded $3.5 million to my client which represented the majority of the marital liquid assets
This divorce case involved a 27 year marriage. The parties failed to reach an agreement concerning financial matters and therefore the case proceeded to trial.
