I only had supervised visitation for 3 hours every other Sunday when I first hired Mr. Schmitt. Without an attorney I was not protecting my rights in court and was being taken advantage of. Although I was clean off of drugs for 5 years I still had a hard time getting my joint custody back. Mr. Schmit...t was the only attorney I contacted that personally called me back and gave me advice without scheduling an appointment. He seemed very genuine and he offered pricing that was very affordable. I hired Mr. Schmitt with a deposit and a monthly payment. During the pandemic he worked with me when I lost my job and when I didn’t have the money for my payments he told not to worry about and pay when I can. He still showed up to every court date early and seemed to have a fantastic relationship with the judge. He is very knowledgeable, articulate and diligent. I deeply believe the satisfaction of helping someone get their child back means more to him than the money he receives. After passing a hair follicle test that was demanded by my ex and her attorney they still tried to deny my overnight visit request. Not only did Mr. Schmitt see to it that I got my overnight visit. I also got an extra overnight Fri-Sun and a weekly dinner visit not supervised. Also this will be the first Christmas Eve overnight to Christmas I’ll have with my daughter in 8 years. I cannot thank Mr. Schmitt for what he has done for me, my daughter, her sisters and my fiancé. Now that I am back to work I plan on paying him every dollar that is owed and will recommend him every chance I get. I wish I could give him 10 stars because 5 just does no justice for the service he provides.

After my breakup from my girlfriend, I contact Mike about my best course of action for custody and child support. He gave me a free 15 min or so consultation over the phone on the best practices that I should immediately do while I made up my mind on whether or not I needed legal representation,... as it seemed my ex would reconcile and have some sort of agreeable, logical, mediation involved visitation for us both with our child. Unfortunately for me, and our child she did not, and I needed to petition the courts for custody. Mike represented me during the entire of the court proceedings, ending up going to trial with testimony, but my ex eventually agreed to a 50/50. This process lasted from about end of April 2015 till Dec 2016. Throughout the process Mike was available through emails, phone conversations, and text if I had any questions. Periodically we met to go over the case face to face. My ex started with the public defender but ultimately hired her own out of pocket lawyer to combat Mike’s efforts in the court. I had read the other reviews for Mike on this site stating he got into it with the judge, other lawyer etc. Please understand this is his job to stand up for you. You do not want a lawyer who will not object when the other council should be objected to. Mike is not simply going to lay down and let you be manhandled in court. You do need representation. Do not represent yourself. I recommend Mike Schmitt. Mike had payment options available after my initial retainer. You do not want to think afterward about a “what if” for not having good legal representation. I am 100% happy with the outcome of the court, and with Mike knowledge. I have asked him for advice even months after the conclusion, and he has always let me know what his recommendations are.

Mike did an excellent job taking on my case at the last minute before the trial. He took the time to discuss the details even after work hours. His suggestions on handling some very personal and emotional communication matters were spot on! When it came to trial, Mike provided guidance and exp...ertise that was invaluable. I highly recommend Mike for anyone going through a child custody matter.

Mike recently handled my Divorce case and I have to say that he was Fantastic. My case was fairly difficult and Mike navigated every step with ease, and confidence. It became particularly difficult at times as the attorney for my Ex would make completely inaccurate statements in court, and made accu...sations that were egregious at times. Mike knew when to respond, and most importantly when NOT to respond. He helped me stay strong, and offered me excellent direction on what documents I needed to provide to refute their allegations, he gave me easy deadlines to make, and was patient with me. Throughout the whole process, Mike demonstrated a great amount of Reason, when their side offered none at all. It was incredible as Mike laid out my case versus my ex's case - and Mike got me a settlement which includes A) A lump sum check for several thousand for the Buyout of our marital residence, B) my ex-wife has to pay me Child Support and Mike got me almost double what I was originally going to request, and C) Finally Mike also got me an agreement from their side that they will have to pay me half of a deferred compensation account my Ex had which will be another check to me in excess of $8 grand...... and Mike will absolutely represent me when it comes time to file that Qualified Domestic Relations Order. Mike and his Paralegals were very easy to communicate with, and quick to respond. (the office staff was great and very accommodating) and I would absolutely recommend Mike for someone going through a Divorce. Lastly was the cost and financial arrangement when I hired Mike. I was in a very tight position with finances when I started the Process (I Filed for Divorce against my spouse) Mike worked with me to set the retainer amount that worked, and allowed me a payment structure that took my needs into account (My needs and the needs of my two Little ones as well) Mike did not break the bank as some Lawyers can. he was very affordable, and made the whole process easy from start to finish. There is one word that sums up my experience working with Mike Schmitt - INCREDIBLE

Mike will end all your distrust and annoyance associated with legal proceedings. He handled my divorce and did an amazing job keeping it out of court and getting me what I wanted. He was there to talk to the whole time and made me feel he was on my side by his comments and advice. He is now represent...ing my girlfriend for her custody battle and he was the only lawyer we would contact to handle the case. He is truly a good person which is hard to find with people associated with the law in this country.
