Do NOT use
Charged more than quoted. Couldn't even call when the divorce went threw I found that very rude.

Replied last July 27, 2015All charges in a matrimonial action are quoted as we take a "retainer" and work off of that. The retainer agreement is very clear that it is just that, a guestimate or a "quote" of what will be charged. Often situations within a divorce will make the cost of the divorce go up (ie., custody issues, a difficult spouse, etc.) and we as attorneys have no way of predicting that. It is office policy to send out a letter with the final divorce documents, as oppose to a telephone call. I am unaware of any recent client named "Karen" who I represented in divorce action, so I am concerned that this may be a disgruntled employee's comments as opposed to an actual client's concerns.
