About me

Lisa represents clients in the areas of elder law, Medicaid planning, special needs planning, estate planning and estate administration.  She works with clients who require long-term nursing home care or home care to develop a comprehensive asset protection plan.

Lisa represents seniors who need long-term care, and works with their families and other medical professionals to develop an appropriate care plan, whether that includes home care, independent living facility, assisted living or a skilled nursing home.  Lisa then implements strategies to protect assets while accessing public benefits, including Chronic Care Medicaid for nursing home care and Community Medicaid for home care.  She uses a variety of strategies available for clients depending on their particular circumstances, including outright transfers, irrevocable Medicaid trusts, annuities, loans, pooled trusts to shelter excess income, and transfers of real property.  Lisa also helps clients access available Veteran's benefits.  For clients seeking planning prior to illness, Lisa prepares the necessary documents, including wills, durable powers of attorney and gift riders, and health care proxies to ensure the clients' wishes will be carried out.

Lisa represents clients with disabilities or families with disabled children to implement planning strategies to access public benefits and maximize preservation of the individual's or family's assets.  She advises clients on self-settled supplemental needs trusts, as well as pooled community supplemental needs trusts.  She also assist clients with Article 17A guardianships for disabled children or family members.

Lisa provides clients with necessary estate planning documents including wills, trusts, powers of attorney and health care proxies.  She also assists clients with planning to avoid estate tax and she provides estate administration services.
