Andrea concentrates her practice in the areas of elder law, estate planning, guardianship, probate, and special needs law. Originally from Upstate New York, Andrea moved to Lubbock in February 2014 following her husband’s professional transfer to the area. She earned her undergraduate degree (B.A.) in English in 2002, Juris Doctor (J.D.) with a health law concentration in 2005, and Master of Public Health (MPH) in 2006 from the University at Buffalo. Prior to her arrival in Lubbock, Andrea served as a Human Resources Executive and Legal Professional for two large health systems, including the Veterans’ Health Administration (VHA). She served as a technical advisor of the national professional appeals board for the VA, and has negotiated multimillion-dollar labor contracts for hospitals and other health-care organizations. While in law school, Andrea represented seniors as part of the Elder Law Clinic, received the Buffalo Public Interest Law Program Scholarship, and served as Editor-in-Chief of the Buffalo Women’s Law Journal. She also spent a summer working for the renowned Judge Bazelon Center for Mental Health Law in Washington, D.C. where she worked with attorneys to guarantee access to health care, community services and legal protections for persons with disabilities.
Andrea’s decision to help seniors and persons with disabilities today was largely influenced by her part-time job while in law school as an activities therapist for Alzheimer’s and dementia residents at a local nursing home. Andrea’s passion to advocate for individuals that may otherwise have no voice, has led her to concentrate her practice in the areas of Special Needs and Elder Law (VA Pension and Medicaid Qualification), Health Law, Adult Guardianship, Estate Planning, Asset Protection and Probate. She is admitted to the state bars of New York and Texas, is a VA Accredited Attorney, a certified Guardianship attorney, a memberof the Lubbock Area Bar Association, the South Plains Trust and Estates Council, and the NationalAcademy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA).
Andrea is a member of the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce, Junior League of Lubbock, and enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Andrea can be contacted at , or at.
