I paid for the service but did not receive it to the extent that was promised

My name is Svetlana. I am writing this review so that others can make an informed decision. I paid $400 for a consultation and did not receive answers to any of my questions. I contacted attorney Ryan L Witmer regarding a specific issue with my documents. My request was clear: what actions can be... taken in my situation, and what are the possible options. I sent all documents and questions to the attorney by email so he could prepare in advance for our meeting. Importantly, I also made it clear before the consultation that I do not qualify for a refugee program and am not applying for it. Nevertheless, during the entire one-and-a-half-hour consultation, the attorney asked questions focused solely on determining whether I qualify for this program. In the end, he confirmed what I had already stated at the beginning: no, I do not qualify for the refugee program. It seems the consultation was conducted in the attorney’s interest — to see if he could take me on for the refugee program costing $10,000–15,000. My questions remained unanswered, and I asked: “So how should I handle my situation? How can I solve this issue?” At the end of the meeting, the attorney promised to send a strategy for my case. I waited a week. Instead, I received an email offering to provide access to my personal account so that the attorney could submit a request for expedited processing of my existing and already filed case — stating that this would cost $1,500. Anyone can perform this action independently: in the account, there is a button “Request Expedited Processing,” which only requires clicking and writing a reason. It takes two minutes and is free. I do not consider this a strategy for handling the issue I contacted the attorney about. A strategy should be a plan: step one, step two, step three. What to do, in what order, and how to resolve the situation. I received none of this. I emailed Ryan L Witmer asking for a refund of $400 because the consultation did not address my questions, and I did not receive a strategy for my situation. The attorney refused, stating that he spent one and a half hours with me. But those one and a half hours were spent on his agenda, not mine. Result: $400 paid, questions unanswered, no strategy provided, and instead of real help — an offer to pay $1,500 for something anyone can do for free in their own account. Based on my experience, I do not recommend working with Ryan L Witmer. I want to confirm that this review is not fake. I will leave my email here, [email protected], in case readers have questions.

"I strongly endorse Mr. Witmer based on his vast experience and reputation for quality legal services, especially with respect to immigration issues. I have had the pleasure of getting to know Mr. Witmer over the past two years. He is full of creative ideas and solutions - 'no' and 'can't' don't seem to be in his vocabulary - instead, it's 'when' and 'how'. Clients in need of immigration law assistance (or attorneys in other practice areas in need of a contact in immigration law) would be well advised to get to engage with Mr. Witmer. I highly recommend him."
