If I could select zero stars, I would. My spouse had used Ms. Bestine in a previous court matter, working with her for approximately a year on a very complex case. Fast forward 6 years later, we contacted Ms. Bestine with a major update via email at the beginning of March, explaining that we would ne...ed to have a consult prior to our court date at the end of March. She sent a very snarky response stating that she did not have time to deal with this and that she does not advise over email, which she previously did in November when we had a question regarding our rights. My spouse called Ms. Bestine's office, and was then asked who he was and his phone number, and stated that he would get a call back. Fast forward three weeks, we still had not received a call. We call her office today, 3/20, and are told that she would like to schedule an in-office consultation, which we live two hours away and are now on a time crunch due to the next court date being fairly soon. Ms. Bestine's schedule does not allow any availability for an in-office consultation and we are now left scrambling to find someone to provide us a consultation prior to this court date. Steer clear of Ms. Bestine if you'd like a reliable, professional, and stable attorney.

Do not hire this person and save yourself a lot of heartache and money…She did not keep me informed, she was disrespectful, rude, condescending and seemed to purposefully drag things out when our divorce should have been a quicker process. As I read in other reviews, she seemed to be working for the... other side as evidenced by her actions and was against me throughout the entire process…she never spoke to me as her client but as someone substandard to her nor did she prepare me for anything to come so I would know what to expect, then she would get angry with me for not knowing something …it seemed that I was telling her what to do at times…it was the most horrible experience

Ms. Bestine was assigned as my children's law guardian for several yrs. She never believed anything I said. She interviewed my oldest child for more than 2 hrs and didn't believe her testimony of abuse she suffered from my ex-called her a liar. My ex was convicted on 6 counts of child abuse and she s...uppressed that evidence and had custody taken from me and gave him my children. She convinced the judge that I needed to be investigated based on my ex's word. I went almost 6 yrs of supervised visitation and the investigation showed I was a good parent and my ex was the problem. She is very unprofessional and often yelled and cussed at me when I called to tell her that my ex was not complying with court orders. She would tell the judge that she met with my children when in fact, my children said they had not seen or spoken with her in YEARS

This attorney caused me and my family a lot of pain and heart-ache. She was my children's law guardian. She almost never met with them before court and when she did, she did so in front of their abusive parent. She acted very inappropriate and unethical as well as unprofessional. In my opinion, she s...hould not be allowed anywhere near children. Since representing my children, I've not been able to see my children in over a yr. The reason why I lost custody...I couldn't afford a big-time lawyer like my ex could. She would often yell at me and hang up on me when I would call her regarding my children. I felt as tho' she had a personal vendetta against me. She was very biased and often ask my ex's lawyer what they wanted instead of what was in best interest of her clients. Please stay clear of this lawyer!

This lawyer was extremely disorganized, unprepared and unprofessional. She did not file the proper adjournment for my pretrial hearing in 09 and as a result the judge heard my ex husband without us present. The judge issued an order that I received in the mail and I had to call Katherine and ask h...er to check her mail because she didn't believe me. Her lack of proper document filing was the reason the judge never respected her or listened to her. She also displayed extreme lack of professionalism when communicating with the law guardian. As if all of this was not enough she showed up to court the day of my trial and asked my family members to fill out questionnaires for testimony in the waiting area. During this process one of my family members had to tell her to check her skirt because it was fully unzipped as she frantically ran around trying to slap together her trial information. The outcome- She took all my money and did nothing but destroy mine and my son's life . I continue to fight in court to this day to try to reverse what her mistake. My son has had to meet with a court ordered psychologist and the Dr. point blank said to me "once the judge hears one party and makes a ruling then they almost never change it". All Katherine had to do was show up and my son would have been protected.
