Did not fulfill on her promises

Very bad experience, I paid her the fee she asked to request my FOIA records, she explained it would take a couple of months before getting a response back from USCIS. After a few months I followed up, but she ignored my calls and my emails after multiple attempts. I am out of state so I feel like sh...e took advantage of my situation. Would not recommend her to anyone, very unprofessional, did not respond and I didn't even receive a copy of the records I paid her for so basically I paid her for nothing and lost my money.

Dear Benjamin, I regret that you feel this way. I do make every effort to contact my clients as promptly as possible, but I have no record of a voicemail or email from anyone named Benjamin this year. I believe you are someone whose FOIA was submitted back in 2014, and our last communication from you by email was in 2015. FOIA requests can take as long as a year to come back from the agency, and at times several agencies must respond to the request, which can add to the total processing time. Please contact me directly by phone or email so I can make certain we have your current contact information after so many years. I would be happy to send you a copy of any documents we may have received right away.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
