Alan Bedenko is a litigation attorney representing people, businesses, and municipal entities in the state and federal courts throughout New York.
Born in Queens to Croatian parents who fled Communism, Mr. Bedenko was raised in suburban New York City. He received his undergraduate degree in Political Science in 1990 from Boston University, and returned to Westchester to attend Pace University’s School of Law, where he earned his J.D. in 1994.
Having passed both the Massachusetts and New York State bar exams, Mr. Bedenko commenced his legal career representing working individuals and families throughout eastern Massachusetts in all manner of civil and criminal litigation, eventually opening up a solo practice in Boston specializing in housing and eviction litigation. He pioneered the use of legal internet marketing while in Boston, naming his firm for its web URL. Mr. Bedenko self-published a guide to help Massachusetts landlords protect their rights and evict problem tenants, and ways in which to successfully avoid running afoul of complex consumer protection laws and regulations.
Upon moving in 2001 to western New York, Mr. Bedenko began working as staff counsel for a Fortune 500 insurance company, representing individuals and businesses throughout the region, defending them in all manner of personal injury claims.
Mr. Bedenko is politically active. He is a member of the Clarence Democratic Committee, was an appointed delegate to the Erie County Judicial Nominating Convention in 2010, and was the president of the WNY Coalition for Progress, a WNY-area nonpartisan think tank from 2005 until 2007. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Buffalo and Erie County Public Library, and for the past two years has served as its Vice-President.
Mr. Bedenko is admitted to practice in New York State and the Southern and Western Districts of New York. He is retired from the Massachusetts Bar. He is a member of the Erie County Bar Association and fluent in Croatian. He lives with his family in Clarence, NY and enjoys playing music and travelling.
