If this is your child's attorney contact the legal aid bureau and get a new child attorney does child attorney I have watched on multiple cases she handled one of my cases did a horrible job I watched on a few other cases when I was still going through my stuff because I got rid of her and I hear the... same thing from all the same people about her that she picks the parent with the most money that she belittles the other parents regardless of proof or anything so basically if you have more money than your spouse she'll believe everything you say and shall be little you therefore she fails to look out for the safety of the children not only that on numerous occasions I heard from people that she has also lied about stuff in the courtroom that hasn't been proven yet but will be proven eventually I bet within the next 6 months because karma is real. So for anybody looking for a decent child attorney passes page don't even look further this child's attorney is horrible you could probably pay her 10 grand and she'll tell you you'll have your kids 99% of the time and at the end of the case the other party will have the kids 99% of the time you'll have them 1% and then social say that's how the balls rolled I guess you know so she's just takes your money and basically doesn't do any work for it I wish I could have a job like that for God's sakes I had to do all my own work I should be a child's lawyer I had to do all my own homework she didn't do nothing for me I literally had to get all my own affidavits and everything yeah horrible worst lawyer ever.

She picks sides with the more affluent parent and belittles the parent with less money. With zero regard for her client. Her supporting motions did not show any concern for the child or facts, she failed to mention or remember facts that go against her agenda and only advocated for the parent with... more money against the evidence presented in front of her including medical evidence.

My divorce action was complicated and messy. Carla did an excellent job representing my child and appears to have been thorough in her work. Not sure what the other review is talking about - I heard from contacted individuals that Carla did her research (including medical and school). My child ha...s only good things to say about his interactions with Carla. Ignore the flailings of the reviewer who clearly has an ax to grind. Your child deserves quality representation and Carla delivers.

I have had the grave misfortune of experiencing Carla Cottrell as an attorney for the child. Time and time again I have seen her fail in actually looking out for her client. Carla is supposed to be the child’s advocate, in this situation, a young child. Carla Cottrell has not even ONCE done her due d...iligence in looking into the child’s medical history or records, spoken to the child’s pediatrician, spoken to the child’s day care, etc. Instead she deems herself the expert when it comes to the child’s health, consistently going Against the child’s pediatricians recommendations. She ignores, not only experts suggestions, but also ignores evidence that is provided. By her actions, and lack thereof, she shows that she is only advocating for the Other parent. Carla is clearly shooting above her pay grade by her complete dismissal of fighting for her client. If you have the horrible luck of getting Carla Cottrell, I wish you the best because you will be in for your worst nightmare. If you have a lot of money, then maybe you have a shot. Good riddance to her.
