Lack of Communication

I was his client several years ago. A woman falsely accused me of harassment. Anyway, she accused me of twisting her arm, which I never did whatsoever. This was later dismissed, but she accused me of harassment and I was taken to court (I called her a name--if that is harassment). I hired Kevin ...Condon as my lawyer. As I am not knowledgable regarding law issues, I felt he did not communicate the law process to me clearly. During the very last session before my final case in town court, he mentioned to me "Didn't you tell me that you 'roughed her up a bit'". I couldn't believe what he was saying to me. I never ever touched this woman in any way whatsoever. I felt betrayed by Kevin's saying this to me. If I had the money, I would have hired another lawyer and plead my innocence like indeed I was. I just feel he did not communicate the law to me well, and like I stated I felt very betrayed when he stated to me--"I thought you said you roughed her up a bit". By this experience I feel he was not very trustworthy. I never gave him any indication that I "roughed her up". Maybe for basic law issues--wills, closing on homes--he is all right, but for defending criminal actions, I'm not sure he is a good attorney. He did not keep me informed of most of the court procedures, or what he planned on doing. As I stated, I should have plead innocent (which indeed I was) and hired a different attorney.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
