Biography
Mr. Comerford joined The Tarantino Law Firm (formerly Brown & Tarantino) in 2010. Mr. Comerford’s professional memberships include the Erie County Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, Western New York Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Comerford was named as a “Super Lawyers” Rising Star for 2013 and 2014.
Mr. Comerford has concentrated his practice on defense litigation, including medical malpractice, personal injury, nursing home negligence, as well as construction law involving general contractors, sub-contractors, construction managers, property owners, and municipalities in construction-related claims. Mr. Comerford has also lent litigation support in insurance coverage issues and subsequent third-party litigation.
Mr. Comerford is also knowledgeable on Guardianship and proceeding under Article 81 of the Mental Hygiene Law on behalf of the person in need of protection. Through Article 81 proceedings, he has sought the appointment of a personal needs and/or property management guardian to act on behalf of the incapacitated individual who is unable to care for his or her own personal or property needs.
