Exceedingly rude during each of several consultations. Calls at 7 AM! Hangs up when she's done talking! Never listens. Is fond of giving ancient history on different counties, many years ago.........Likes to quote Greek tragedies!....to snub her nose at [your] "lack of knowledge..."-???????!!! ...It was unclear to me, actually, why she did this. Talking to this woman made everything much more complicated than it was. Mine was a relatively straight-forward divorce, with some issues of marital property. She got REAL ANGRY! when I told her I already pleaded guilty to a Class B misdemeanor harassment charge. Wanted desperately, I think, to take this to trial; thereby increasing her fees?????? I would represent myself {and risk having a fool as a client} before I would hire this woman.

Ms. Hess was retained for a contested divorce. She worked on my case for three short months, went to court with me twice. I had paid her $17,000 and have recieved no child support, no maintenance, no results!!!!! NOTHING!!!!!! Now my family and I are out of money that we didn't have in the first ...place. That woman is so disorganized, she is mean, yelled at me, called me with wrong information, billed me for the wrong case, called me the wrong name since my phone number was on the wrong file, and charged me late fees when she was pre-paid!!!! And then she told me I had to talk to my ex and come up with a custody agreement. That is NOT MY JOB!!!! I would never recommend this woman to my worst enemy!!!!

TERRIBLE LAWYER! She very unorganized, never has the correct documents in front of her, and she never knows what she is talking about. You are basically doing the work for her, and she submits to the court. She calls you ONLY during working hours, and when she can't get in contact with you leaves you... nasty messages and blames you for ignoring her. She is very rude, and NASTY when talking to her clients, and anyone for that matter. If you try to correct her info (which is VERY wrong) she hangs up on you. She is more concerned about her money, which I was charged over 10,000 in a matter of 9 months, I was told 3,000 would be enough.. that was spent in the first 3 days. The money is so not worth all of her crap that you put up with. You can never get a detailed billing, and when you do, you're still missing thousands of dollars from it. No one in her office knows what they are talking about, they call you every day asking you for info that you've already given, or already spoke to Mrs. Hess about. Not to mention they are very rude also. They refuse to give you documents, and/or charge you $75.00 to give you a document you should of had in the first place. I have NEVER had a professional talk to me they way she does... Even when things are her mistake (and almost everything is her error from wrong documentation), she is down right NASTY, she will call you a liar, and say you lied to her, when in all actuality you were just trying to give her the correct information THAT SHE SHOULD HAVE ALREADY HAD! Point is, she is a very nasty woman, who has no organization, and then blames her faults on you and every one else around. For the amount of money you will spend, you could find your self a MUCH BETTER attorney!

Over priced. Under results to no results. You will be disappointed in her services and SHOCKED with her bills. Disorganized, buries herself with her own paperwork, had to give several copies of information. Was unaware that you had to build a foundation before questioning. Was beat back by a state ap...pointed attorney. Save your money and find a lawyer that knows what the judge expects.

She started an adoption for us, before gay marraige was legal in ny. But we were entitled to a second parent adoption, I even told her the case law. she charged us 4000 for research that did not pertain(second class family and across state line adoptions). She filed papers for a stepparent adoption,...we fired her. our next lawyer refiled the right paperwork but the court used Hess's. which left me with an adoption that wasn't quite legal.
