Lawrence H. Brinker

I have known Mr Brinker since the 1970's, we flew together in the military flying the C-141 at Charleston AFB, SC. We recovered from a serious brake malfunction during a high speed landing, and we continued to be friends until 1995. I was Chief Pilot of AirTran Airways in 1995, when a serious char...ge against two of my pilots arose, from an FAA inspector from Nebraska, intent on prosecuting them, for what I thought was baseless and incorrect. My reply to him after he informed me he would be prosecuting was; "I'll see you in court". I called Mr Brinker to ask him if he would represent us, and he accepted the job. Long story short, the DOT judge threw the FAA out of court and told him to not come back . The results were based on facts, not technicality.. Later he became the legal counsel for the CEO of AirTran. During his tenur he put together the merger of AirTran and Valujet. I will always have high regard for his knowledge and ability to focus on the long term objective.
