Christian J. Root is a Partner in Tully Rinckey PLLC’s Binghamton office, where he focuses his practice in Family and Matrimonial Law.
Prior to joining Tully Rinckey, Christian was the longtime First Assistant County Attorney for Tioga County in Owego, N.Y., where he was in charge of the Department of Social Services Division (DSS). In that role, he represented the DSS in all legal proceedings, including the prosecution of child abuse and neglect cases, persons-in-need-of-supervision cases, juvenile delinquency proceedings, adult protective proceedings, child support proceedings and other legal proceedings. Christian also provided counsel and advice to the Commissioner and department heads and served on various committees within the County as directed by the County Attorney, provided legal assistance to other County Departments and represented the County, as necessary, in any legal proceedings.
