My client has an employment contract saying he could be fired for "illegal conduct." The majority owner trumped up claims that my client had sexually harassed of female employees, fired him, and purpo ... rted to "cancel" his vested stock. I brought suit for breach of my client's five year employment contract and the value of the cancelled stock, plus an interference with contract claim against the majority owner. The defendant corporations counterclaimed for breach or contract. The jury agreed the the sexual harassment claim was a bad faith pretext to terminate my client, and awarded damages of $900,000, and dismissed the counterclaims. The judge later assessed additional damages of over $4 million.

My client developed and sold inventory control software. It hired the defendant to write a new program. After paying the writer $250,000 for his work, he abruptly demanded more money and an ownership ... interest in the software. Even though my client agreed to most of the writer's demands, he stopped work, copyrighted the software in his own name, and claimed that he owned it. My client brought suit for a determination that it owned the software under the parties' contract. The jury agreed that the software was owned by my clilent, and made a small damage award. The judge awarded $125,000 for attorney's fees.
