Attentive, Responsive and energetic.

Divorce is not an easy journey, but Matt and Kayla made the trip much easier. Attentive, responsive and energetic for the final solution best describe my experience.

Unfit to practice for Divorce and Custody

Mr Porter is absolutely a great Criminal Attorney. But his reckless and absolute refusal to speak on behalf of his clients desires in Divorce and Custody should make it against the standards to practice in those areas. Charged over 8000 dollars and I ended up worse than if I had a court appointed att...orney for custody. Selfish and shady.

Thank you for mentioning that I am a great criminal attorney. Criminal law was my first practice area and I have been representing people in the Northern New York (and beyond) criminal arena for about twenty one (21) years. It has been a pleasure and my office continues to have a very active criminal defense practice. About eight years ago, I joined Conboy Law Firm and began a divorce and family law practice as well. I am now a solo practitioner employing a dedicated and experienced team of paralegals to assist with divorce and family law representation. Over the several years we have vigorously represented several hundreds of individuals with respect to divorce and family law. I must say, I believe this is the first complaint of this type we have received. Are you sure you were my client? When we first meet a divorce or family law client, we consult with that client at length about their goals and desires. This occurs at a consultation, prior to the client hiring us, and prior to us accepting the case. At the consultation we strive to identify the aspects of the case that can be settled, and the aspects of the case that we will likely need to litigate (fight). We make sure that a potential client's goals and desires are something that can be realistically achieved. If they are not, I let you know this up front and we do not take your case. Upon being retained to represent a divorce or family law client, we work vigorously and efficiently to settle and conclude matters and issues that can and should be settled. No reasonable person enjoys going through a divorce or family law dispute. Our mission is to work closely with clients to put an end to the unpleasantness of divorce and custody disputes. In divorce and custody, there are some issues that can not be settled in particular cases. We identify these matters quickly. We are ready willing and able to zealously litigate these issues and we keep the client informed every step of the way. We do this every day. In vast majority of custody and divorce cases, legal fees do not reach anywhere near $8000. A typical divorce (with our office) costs about $2000 in legal fees and filing fees. This figure may decrease or increase a bit depending on complexity and the issues in contention. While we handled a handful of cases that became that expensive, I can not, in all honesty, think of a client, that I represented both criminally and for divorce/custody, whose bill was anywhere near $8000. With our office, a case that expensive would involve several days of trial and would have been truly memorable. I understand that this review was posted anonymously. I suspect that it was posted by an unhappy opposing party, rather than one of our clients. If this truly is a client that I represented, please feel free to reach out to me. I am always available to discuss billing concerns or client concerns.

Highly Recommend

Matthew is the first attorney I have ever needed and he exceeded my expectations. His guidance and support in handling a traffic ticket for me was the best! He assured me that he would take care of everything and for me not to worry and he sure delivered. Just one great attorney that I highly re...commend!
