stay away... you've been warned

John's attitude is apparent right away as he appears arrogant, smug etc. I had the very unfortunate experience of dealing with this man. Please do not use this person in a family court matter.

Bad Attorney

He is divisive and one sided concerning my families estate. Cannot be trusted at his word and everything needs to be put in writing as he has a selective memory.

Would not hire him

He is Executor for my Dad's Estate. He would not listen to or keep my younger brother and I informed on any information and could not remember any conversations or agreements. He only would deal with my older brother. My parents told us to sell the house and John was informed of this, but for over a ...year he worked with my older brother so that he can keep the house. This increased his commission to over $20,000.00. He had us fire our original Attorney for the Will and hire a friend of his because the first Attorney was charging us 3.2%, and John told us that his friend would take care of the will for only $10,000.00 as a favor to him. We are now being billed $34,000.00 for his friend plus fees for the original Atty. A total that is thousands more than is we had stayed with the first Atty and he is telling us we have to pay it. I have contacted another Atty who is a friend of mine to look into this and told John that he needs to correct his error or I am going to call the NY State BAR, but he is not responding to me again. I pretty sure that we are paying him.($20,000.00)

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
