David Sanford Kimpel

David joined Pappas Cox, as a partner and shareholder in 2005. He concentrates his practice in the areas of Real Estate Law and Trusts and Estate Planning and Probate and Estate Administration as well as Business Planning and Formation.

He serves both business and families with the purchase and sale of home and businesses. His practice incorporates his real estate business and Trust and Estate knowledge to provide a comprehensive plan for each transaction.

He provides estate planning services for individuals and small businesses interested in looking to the future and planning for all contingencies to assist executors, administrators and trustees in performing their duties as required by the laws of the State of New York. He provides Probate and Estate Administration services to assist executors, administrators and trustees in performing their duties as required by Law.

David, as an experienced title examiner performs Loan closing services for individuals, mortgage bankers, local development companies, small businesses, home builders and governmental entities. He also performs closing services for several governmental agencies.

David serves as an arbitrator on the American Arbitration Association Commercial Arbitrator Panel hearing disputes between businesses and disputes between individuals and businesses.

He has experience negotiating pre-foreclosure sales of homes on behalf of individuals caught in the unfortunate circumstances.

David has extensive expertise in the area of short sales. The "short sale" of a home involves consolidation of information, preparation of a proposed "closing" statement showing the lender their net sales proceeds, then negotiating with the lender to have the lender accept the net sales proceeds in full satisfaction of the outstanding debt.

David was born in Seneca Falls, New York. He currently resides in Pompey, NY since 1987 with his wife, raising two children. He has practiced law in Syracuse since 1983, forming Kimpel and Gideon, P.C. in 1990 with David S. Gideon, Esq. He was the managing partner of Kimpel, Gideon and Ventrone, PLLC formed in 1995.
