Budget friendly and fast!

I hired Stacey to handle my divorce. My ex made things difficult from the beginning but Stacey kept things flowing even when he tried to delay the divorce. She kept the price in check by addressing the important things and and not spending precious time on the things that weren't. This was a very str...essful time in my life and I'm glad it wasn't made worse by going into debt. She was firm and direct to my ex's attorney and I felt confident in her. There was a time constraint and I needed the divorce done promptly and Stacey made it happen and I couldn't be happier. I would hire her again for any family related legal issues. I would also recommend her.

A great lawyer.

Stacey was very responsive and always available to meet when needed. She helped me get a satisfactory settlement from my Ex Wife and 50/50 custody of my daughter. I'm very happy from using her and even recommended others to her services during my divorce process.

Divorce is hard

I know that most of the time the only people who write a review are the ones who are unhappy so I thought I would take a moment to share this review of Stacey Balduf. My divorce was awful...I had a hard time understanding how the process could be like it is. All I can say is that Stacey talked to m...e in a way that kept me focused on what was important. She was dead on about what was going to happen and how it was likely to turn out. Because of that my final divorce reflected what was most important to me. On the day of trial, when we settled because Stacey took the time to have a written agreement prepared and sent to counsel prior to court. She was able to alter it at the courthouse, I was familiar with it. I understood it. I had time to let it all sink in. There were no real surprised. When I signed it I was exhausted and drained but relieved. When my Wife signed it with her attorney, only just reading it for the first time, she was in the conference room in tears having a hard time understanding how the process could turn out this way. I would recommend Stacey to anyone that is focused on making a realistic plan for the future.

Excellent, Trustworthy, Results Oriented

Stacey has been my lawyer for approximately 5 years during which time she has handled every child support / custody issue that has arisen between me and my ex (and there have been several). I initially became acquainted with Stacey when I needed to hire a lawyer for my first court appearance and she ...was the most conveniently located. Since then, I have chosen to retain her as my attorney not because of convenience but instead because I trust her and she is great at what she does. Her demeanor is calm, confident and professional. She clearly knows the law but never feels a need to grandstand nor conduct herself in a loud, arrogant manner. Instead, she is unpretentious while being highly effective when it comes to getting results. I have found her temperament to be very calming during stressful court appearances, a definite plus! Stacey has a vast degree of experience dealing with matters related to Family Law. When I must go to court I do so with confidence knowing that she has my best interests at heart and that she will handle my case with the utmost professionalism. I have yet to leave the courtroom feeling dissatisfied with the outcome. I would strongly recommend Stacey to anyone in need of a great Family Law attorney.

Disorganized and unprofessional

She is very disorganized and unprofessional. I cannot tell you how many legal papers she filled out with obvious spelling and grammatical errors. She talks down to me when I ask her for clarification on legal terminology and legal proceedings. She claims to be waiting for my husband's lawyer for wor...k, when his lawyer already responded to her. This has happened several times. Through her disorganization and complete lack of awareness of what is going on, she has made this divorce take much longer than it needed to. I feel as though I have to constantly check up on her, but then I am charged for that "client/lawyer" time. Had I known how unprofessional she is, I would never have hired her. She definitely needs someone to handle her time management, proofread her papers, and maintain her files. Definitely hire a lawyer who has an assistant, a paralegal, or a secretary. Do not hire one who claims that by not having employees she can charge you less money.

I will attempt to address this review. However, this person has chosen to post it anonymously so whether they are actually a client or what they are referring to cannot be specifically addressed. First, all papers are sent to the client for review before submission. If their are any spelling or grammatical errors not picked up by me or the programing (legal grammar is different that traditional English) the client is NEVER charged for any corrections. When a client is having difficulty understanding how divorce proceedings work I do my best to explain. Lawyers charge their clients to explain this. It can add up if repeated several times. Some clients ask the same questions over and over....not because the lawyer is not explaining it but because the process does not seem to "make sense" to them and they are frustrated. "Talking down" may be when I state that I have already explained it. I would be happy to explain it. But the answer is not going to change and the client is charged. All responses received from opposing counsel (lawyers) are sent to the client. If I have heard from them so has my client. Often the spouse of my client tells the client that his or her attorney has responded when they have not actually contacted me. I cannot do anything about that. Attorneys are a group of professionals who often do not respond promptly to phone calls or requests. The work load for any attorneys who are "experienced and well received in the field" is relatively high. I respond to client's within a 24 hour turn around. I email. I call. I will arrange a meeting whenever asked. I send letters and I work evenings and early mornings to accommodate client's schedules. Within the field I am well known for working more efficiently and toward a faster resolution that many in my field. But this only happens if the other side is willing to participate. Often this does not happen. I also give a free initial consultation and explain how I work so that if someone hires me they have heard how I practice. It is very important not to chose me because I may be less expensive. If you are a client who want to pay for your attorney to be at their beck and call and are willing to pay for that kind of service....if you want to be charged to complain about the process, the laws or the other attorney when nothing can be done to change this....you may not want to hire me. I want to make sure that if you are paying me for my service I am able to assist you in some manner. I respect that this process can be costly. IF THIS PERSON BELIEVED THAT I HAD ERRORS IN THE PAPERS, DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON OR HAD ISSUES WITH THE REPRESENTATION THEY COULD HAVE CHANGED LAWYERS AT ANY POINT. ALSO, THEY COULD HAVE COME IN AND DISCUSSED THEIR CONCERNS, (NO CHARGE, WITHIN REASON, FOR DISCUSSIONS ABOUT WHAT THIS AS SET FORTH ABOVE). I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM ANYONE TO DATE. I WOULD ALSO SUGGEST THAT IF THE CLIENT LOOKED AT THIER ACCOUNTING STATEMENT I HAVE CONTACTS WHICH HAVE A 0.00 CHARGE. I OFTEN DO THIS WHEN SOMEONE IS JUST CHECKING IN ETC. Remember.....we handle over a hundred cases a year.....every now and then someone complains like this...the cases that go well just don't bother to comment. They have moved on...something I hope for all my clients. I wish all my clients the best...and have a practice largely based upon client referrals. Stacey A. Balduf, Esq. People who generally write this kind of review have found the process unpleasant and the only one they can blame is the attorney.
