Mitchell P. Heaney

Following my experiences with attorney Mitchell Heaney I could never in good conscience recommend him. To anyone. I would recommend that you stay far away from Heaney (which is where he usually is...far away and unreachable). Under no circumstances should you give him any money. He stole my entire re...tainer and refused to return it in spite of doing no work and not showing up for a court date. Heaney will assure you he's on your side (the tenant) when in reality he plays both sides.

Mr. Heaney has represented in many cases over the years-- civil, landlord/tenant and commercial law. He is the type of litigator the other side hates. He will not budge an inch until he absolutely protects his client to the fullest extent of the law, and that has been my experience for over 15 year...s.

I am a former client of Mitchell P. Heaney and DO NOT recommend his services. Mitchell Heaney's failures compelled me to file a Legal Malpractice lawsuit against his law office. In 2008, Mitchell Heaney agreed to represent me in three separate court proceedings. In 2010, Mitchell Heaney suddenly ...abandoned all three cases, was unresponsive, failed to surrender client files, and failed to formally withdraw as my attorney. In August 2012, I filed a formal complaint against Mitchell Heaney with the Committee on Professional Standards in the 3rd Judicial District. The Committee peformed an investigation. In November of 2012, the Committee on Professional Standards found Mitchell Heaney behaved "Unethically" as my lawyer. Heaney was disciplined by the Committee. Specific details of Heaney's punishment are not made public and are not (yet) reflected in his AVVO rating.
