Action for Declaratory Relief Against Automobile Insurer

The client's motor vehicle was stolen by unknown persons. The client timely reported the loss to his automobile insurer but the insurer failed to pay or deny his claim for months. Five (5) months aft ... er the car was stolen, the client authorized the filing of an action for declaratory relief to seek a determination of whether he was entitled to coverage for theft benefits under the policy issued by the insurer. The insurer ultimately agreed to pay the client's theft claim and acknowledged his attorney's right to collect reasonable attorney's fees and costs from the insurer.
