We saved a young Lady with DACA
N/AOUTCOME: Client released from detention and immigration case dismissed
We represented a young lady who is a DACA recipient. She was arrested and charged with a felony. If she were convicted of that offense, she would have been subject to mandatory detention, removable fr ... om the United States and would have had her DACA revoked. I worked with her criminal defense attorney to advise on when to bond out, how to fight the criminal case and the immigration consequences of her charges. The criminal defense attorney was able to have the charge dismissed, and the client was released from local custody, but the Department detained our client. We provided evidence to the Department that our client still had DACA and argued for her release from detention and dismissal of the NTA. The Department agreed, released her without a bond hearing and agreed to dismiss the NTA. The client is out of custody and still has DACA
