Biography
John Clarke is a former Senior Assistant Public Defender with 28 years experience representing people in the criminal courts in and around Dutchess County. Through handling thousands of cases ranging from traffic violations to the most serious felonies, John has gained a reputation as a caring and determined advocate and counselor. He has cultivated strong, positive and enduring relationships among the many players within the criminal justice community.
John served as an enlisted soldier with the U.S. Army in Europe before returning home and attending the State University of New York College at New Paltz, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He earned his law degree from the City University of New York Law School at Queens College in 1990. He has attended the National Criminal Defense College's trial advocacy program in Macon, GA.
