Strongly recommend that home buyers avoid working with this attorney.
I very rarely post online reviews, but felt that it was important to do so in this case so that other new home buyers in Beacon (or the surrounding areas) can avoid working with this attorney. My partner and I bought our first home in Beacon earlier this year, and our realtor recommended that we hire Ms. Manpel to represent us in the home buying transaction. Throughout the process we found Ms. Manpel to be highly inaccessible and non communicative. She frequently did not return emails or calls. She was not transparent about her fees, and never clear about the services we were entitled to according to the fee we were charged. She was not well organized in her work. At one point, she sent another of her client's confidential mortgage documents to us in error. In general, I felt that she did the absolute minimum to fulfill her responsibilities as our attorney, and she did not advocate strongly on our behalf or protect our interests in the deal. Ms. Manpel drafted a lease document for us as a part of our home sale. Although I suggested that she make several edits to this lease agreement, she refused to do so claiming that the edits were unnecessary. The party renting our new house violated the lease within two months, and the lease was so poorly drafted that it was difficult to take legal action to attempt to recover some money from the violated rental agreement. I would strongly suggest that home buyers avoid working with this attorney.
