State of Florida v. B.P.
Jan 04, 2013OUTCOME: All Charges Dismissed Pre-Arraignment
My client was charged with Discharging a Firearm in Public, Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, Aggravated Battery with a Firearm, Robbery with a Firearm, Armed Burglary of a Conveyance, and Improper E ... xhibition of a Weapon. My client was adamant that he acted in self defense and had the witnesses to prove it. My client claimed that the police refused to talk to these exonerating witnesses. Within 48 hours of receiving the case, the sworn testimony of these witnesses was taken; and a 10 page memo was submitted to the State Attorney's Office. To the credit of the Assistant State Attorney, all charges were dropped prior to formal charges being brought. My client avoided a 20 year minimum mandatory sentence under Florida's 10-20-Life Statute.
