I hired Michael R. Siegel, Esq. for a land purchase and was quoted $1,200 for his services. However, one business day before closing, he suddenly billed me $2,500—more than double his original quote—while already holding my escrow funds, leaving me no real choice but to pay. When I questioned the ...unexpected $1,300 increase, he claimed it was for calls and emails about other properties, even though he never disclosed these would be billable. After the closing, I requested an itemized breakdown of these charges, and he refused to provide one. Additionally, he had advised me that adding my wife to the deed could be handled post-closing, but when I later followed up, he refused to assist and cut off communication entirely. This attorney operates with zero transparency and highly questionable billing practices. I do not recommend him.
