Wiebe Trust v. Jordan
Oct 12, 2012OUTCOME: Order dismissing the complaint for eviction of commercial tenant and granting the tenant's motion for sanctions
A commercial landlord sued its former tenant for eviction and double rent, claiming the tenant "held over" beyond the lease term, and had failed to pay rent. In representing the commercial tenant, I l ... earned that the commercial tenant had properly terminated the tenancy, and that the landlord failed to properly serve notice to the tenant. When the landlord refused to dismiss the action, I filed a motion for sanctions against the landlord and its attorney. The court granted the motion to dismiss the action, and awarded attorney's fees and costs to my client.
