Case of the fallen doctor's patient. My client was going to see his doctor for a scheduled visit. On the way up the walkway from the parking lot to the office he stepped off the walkway into a depressi ... on in the landscaping. He fell and badly injured his shoulder. He required surgery. The case is still ongoing. However, I was able to secure 15k in Medical Payment coverage from both the landlord's insurance company and the tenant's insurance company. The doctor/tenant's company at first refused stating the fall took place outside the office. But a careful review of the policy language revealed that the Med Pay coverage also provided coverage on the "ways to" the insured office.
