I was referred to Basch and Keegan law firm by an employee in a store who saw me a week after a bad car accident. She said that she had been a claims adjuster and never wanted to go up against their firm. I originally had no intention of pursuit on this. Then, a friend specifically mentioned I meet w...ith attorney DeGasperis (John.) I have to say it was life changing, literally. The first thing he did after consulting with me, was to suggest a plan of action to organize my medical care. Believe me, this was not something I could have done or would have known how to do. My care was elevated due to his help. As far as the actual case and settlement were concerned, he was thorough, caring, and informative. John continually educated me throughout the process, allowing me to make my own informed decisions every step of the way. He recognized my confidence in my claim and supported me; he saw my nervousness and timidity in the legal process and was able to give me what I needed to press on. Forthcoming, sincere, and honest, my husband and I always felt that John had our best interests at the forefront. Calling John was the best decision financially, but most importantly, physically.

We had the unfortunate task of having to hire an attorney because my husband fell on ice at a grocery store, he had to have surgery, months of PT and Dr visits, and was out of work for 8 months! It was truly a nightmare, and if the owner had just taken 10 minutes to properly attend to their parking l...ot, we wouldn’t have had to go through any of that. My husband still deals with the pain from the accident EVERYDAY, he has several physical limitations that he will deal with for the REST OF HIS LIFE, all because they didn’t take 10 minutes to properly shovel and salt... TEN MINUTES! I tell you all of this because that is why you need someone like John Degasperis in your corner. John is there pushing & fighting for YOU, because of their simple oversight/negligence we are forced to deal with this for the rest of our lives! John walked us through every single detail, made sure we understood everything and literally just kept fighting, for almost 4 years, he never gave up, even after the insurance company insisted they wouldn’t pay a penny more, he pushed them up another $10,000! He is really THAT good! No one WANTS to go through something like this, and if it weren’t for someone like John out there, going after these companies, it would happen a lot more often. These companies should be accountable for their negligence, John makes sure they are, there honestly isn’t a specific dollar figure that can undo all of the sleepless nights, the pain, the frustration, and everything else that goes with something like this, but what John was able to get for us was BEYOND more than we ever expected, and it has definitely helped us to secure a little better future for our children. Honestly, as cheesy as this may sound, but if what he did, helps to insure that the next time they open their doors in winter, that these owners do what they need to do to protect their customers, so that no one else has to go through what we did, than he did his job WELL!!! We truly appreciate John, Lori and all of the staff at Basch & Keegan, you don’t feel like you are “just another case” with them, it is honestly some of the most personal attention you will ever receive in a VERY impersonal world!
