Mark A. Myers

I hired Mark Myers to be my defense attorney but instead he helped his buddy, Assistant D.A. Christopher Torelli. He recommended strongly that I plead guilty to a felony charge of "Offering a False Instrument for Filing" in 2011. There was zero evidence against me, but he insisted that I'd risk up to... 14 years if I went before a jury trial. Turned out that my maximum sentence, in the off-chance I were found guilty, would have been 4 years, not 14. As it stands, I wound up serving a sentence of 1-3 years anyway after following his advice. I would have been far better off going to trial. The D.A. even admitted that he held a personal bias against me, which Myers should have used to remove that particular prosecutor from the case. He didn't. Instead, he caved and in turn pressured me to cave as well with the threat of a fictional sentence. I was a low-income client and it was clear that he did not care about the outcome of my case. He also told me it was impossible for me to appeal. Turned out, once I got out of prison, that I did in fact have an opportunity to appeal. Mark Myers isn't a true lawyer in my eyes. He simply has connections in the Albany Courts that he uses for his own benefit. When needed he tosses a client to the wolves to maintain those relationships. He might suffice for minor offenses but if you are facing anything remotely serious in nature I recommend staying far, far away from this guy. You'd be better off with a public defender. I am now a convicted felon and spent seven months homeless because nobody would hire me. If I hadn't listened to the advice of Mark Myers, I would very likely have a clean record today and avoided a great deal of trauma. He should be disbarred.

From the first conversation to our day in court I was very satisfied. He is very fair and reliable and I had no problem getting in touch with him thru out the process I would recommend him and would use him again if needed by the way this was my first time having to hire an attorney and he made it si...mple and painless

I met Mark through a mutual friend and was recommended to Mark. I was skeptical on being recommended an attorney like this but was quickly relieved to find that Mark had been working for a very prominent local attorney until recently going into practice for himself. With that said, Mark definitely kn...ows the law and is one of the most easy going attorneys i have ever met. He is down to earth and talks to you like a human being and not above you. He is easy to communicate with and goes above and beyond what my other 2 attorneys did not in my matrimonial case. He is fair with his fees and does not do this for just the money. He truly cares and fights for his clients. I have not completed my services yet with Mark, but so far he has exceeded my expectations. Would highly recommend him.
