Jeffrey D. Honeywell

As Managing Shareholder of Honeywell Law Firm, Jeffrey Honeywell focuses his practice in the areas of Education Law, Labor and Employment Law and Construction Law. Jeffrey has over three decades of experience in employee and student discipline proceedings; in employment law, including sexual harassment and areas of employment discrimination; in all aspects of collective bargaining, including mediation, fact finding and arbitration; in administrative, state and federal court proceedings; and in providing day-to-day legal research and advice on the full range of issues facing school districts and other public and private employers.  

Jeffrey also has significant experience in civil litigation involving construction contracts, which include claims such as additional compensation by contractors against owners, as well as owner’s resolution of disputes with contractors, architects, and construction managers.  He is experienced in the negotiation of commercial contracts, such as construction contracts involving school districts, architects, construction managers, and contractors. Jeffrey also routinely advises school districts and municipalities on the competitive bidding requirements involved in many construction and purchase contracts.

Prior to founding Honeywell Law Firm, Jeffrey worked in a private practice in the Capital District. He served as Captain in the United States Army, as well as serving in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps, where he litigated in more than 150 trials and administrative proceedings. As a St. Lawrence University Alum, Jeffrey has previously served as president of the University’s Alumni Association.
