Vanessa Sanders

Vanessa Sanders is Senior Managing Partner for the Colwell Law Group, and an experienced litigator. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Sanders owned and operated a law practice on Long Island that specialized in matrimonial and family law. Throughout her career, Ms. Sanders has enjoyed working closely with clients, assisting them to navigate the legal process during a difficult time in their lives, from the inception of the litigation process through the resolution of the matter. Ms. Sanders also served as a conflict defender through the Montgomery County Public Defender’s Office, where she assisted both criminal and family court clients.

“My compassionate and client-centered approach drives my practice here at The Colwell Law Group,” says Ms. Sanders. “I attribute this approach, which is both deep-rooted and the driving force behind my advocacy, to my years of experience representing both victims of domestic abuse in Nassau County at The Safe Center.”

In addition to specializing in the areas of family and matrimonial law arena, Ms. Sanders handled varied and complex caseloads sounding in negligence and immigration law in New York City. Ms. Sanders specialized in personal injury, medical malpractice, and lead poisoning matters.

Ms. Sanders received her Juris Doctor degree from Fordham University School of Law, and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Skidmore College. Ms. Sanders is admitted to the New York State Bar, the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
