Dorothy was the best part of the process with purchasing my home. Anytime I phoned, she answered and provided me with sound advice that was impartial and balanced. In other words, she did not tell me what I wanted to hear, but rather what I needed to hear. This worked to my advantage as I was able to... make informed decisions and the right offer that saved approximately 20k that I reinvested in the home. Moreover, anytime I encountered concerns following the purchase of my home, she always made herself available and provided me with the appropriate resources, which worked out even though it did not benefit her. I really respect this person. She is also a no nonsense person who is great at protecting her client's interest; she certainly did mine.

Dorothy helped me with my original closing when I relocated to this area 7 years ago. The process was very smooth and Dorothy was very responsive. As a result I recommended her to friends and family - 3 of 3 of them had a phenomenal experience and would, as I do, highly recommend her. Most recently,... upon my relocation from the area overseas for work - she had given me a substantial amount of her time to help complete various documents associated with my companies assistance in selling my home. In fact she came out to my residence when our schedules didn't match so that we could get the paperwork submitted. Dorothy Tischler has been my real estate lawyer since 1994. She was with me every step of the way when I bought and sold property and transferred titles. In one particular instance she caught a trick by a buyer's attorney related to closing costs, which would have cost me money had she not found it.... Her knowledge of the real estate business is unsurpassed. She and her staff are very courteous and efficient, and they return phone calls! That's a rarity when dealing with attorneys. I recommended Dorothy to my sister and niece, and now they won't use any other real estate attorney as they also feel she's the best. I no longer live in the Albany area, but if I was to purchase property I would be sure to give Dorothy a call.

Today was the closing for the house where Dorothy Tischler represented my mother and me as the sellers. With out a doubt this one one of the worst experiences of my life. Dorthy did not even know I did not live in the house I was selling. I don't think she had read any of the paper work before ente...ring the room. She was unpleasant to work with from the very first phone call. Her partner Gus Gillberg represented the buyers. He went out of the way to be rude to me and my 79 year old mother. The staff was rude, the office not clean. Mr. Gillberg refused to even speak or look at us. Dorthy meanwhile seemed unaware that her partner was totally out of line. The guidelines say do not post insulting content. I can not think of a single aspect of this law firm that could not be construed as an insult. I will be calling the NYS bar in the morning.
