Client Review

On first impression, Joan seemed sincere, but by the second meeting i choice to go elsewhwere, she is a complete crash and burn attorney and seems only concerned with how much money she could "get me" instead of what is best for my children. She completely had the attitude to hold the children agains...t the Father until he complies with her demands of finances. Even though, I told her that i wanted to work out an agreement that would be beneficial to m y children, she ignored that and on the second meeting had plans of financial dispute but non regarding the welfare of my children. I believe people who hire her as an attorney for family court, are only interested in finances and not the better welfare of their children. Unfortunately, there are many like that, so she will stay emplotyed. I feel she is petty and unprofessional...

Lacking Respect for Others.

I met Joan years ago when she worked for a family member of mine. Knowing no other lawyer I hired her for my divorce. at first I had a good impression and i knew since I was a woman I had an upper hand since she doesn't take men's cases in divorces... i'm really not sure why but it doesn't seem right... somehow. Although she was an alright lawyer with procedure she made her letters sound petty to the opposing side and I felt it downgraded myself and their view of me along with her. I found her letters to be unprofessional. As a lawyer it is her responsibility to tell me the law and whether I can do something or not. Whether it was legally relevant or not she mentioned thinngs in her letters that were definately not appropriate for my divorce proceedings. She often made me feel victimize and I really didn;t appreciate that. I was going through a bad divorce but I got the impression that she wanted me to be bitter and vengeful. This is not healthy and I am not this nasty type of person.
